John Burruel
















President and Chief Executive Officer































































Mr. Burruel is an accomplished pilot, business executive and educator.  Prior to joining American Medflight, Mr. Burruel was a pilot for US Airways Express/PSA Airlines where he attained the rank of captain.  After he obtained certification as a Flight Instructor/Checkairman, he was responsible for training new first officers and captains. Prior to his career in aviation, Mr. Burruel was the Academic Vice President of a private university, where he designed baccalaureate and masters level courses and degree programs in business administration.  Mr. Burruel holds a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Nevada Reno, a Master of Science degree from Capella University and a Master of Business Administration degree and a Doctor of Business Administration degree from California Coast University.  Mr. Burruel also holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate as well as a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.  As Chief Pilot, he is American Medflight's designated company instructor and checkairman.  As a professional educator and pilot, Mr. Burruel has been named as a multi-year honoree in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers."















































Jack Dawson















President Emeritus and Operations Assistant to President































































Mr. Dawson brings over 40 years of experience to the Air Medical Industry. A professional pilot since 1971, he was named Chief Pilot of Cal West Aviation in 1975 at which time he established one of the first fixed-wing air ambulance services in the State of California. Mr. Dawson went on to become a founder of two additional air ambulance services, the first through Reno Flying Service in the early 1980s, and then American Medflight in the mid 1990s. Mr. Dawson holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, a Certified Flight Instructor certificate, and a Certified Ground Instructor certificate. He also has been an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and an FAA Designated Written Test Examiner. Mr. Dawson is type rated to fly a variety of jet aircraft and has accumulated more than 17,000 hours of aircraft flight time.















































Janice Beck















Chief Financial Officer































































Ms. Beck has over 20 years of accounting experience and extensive experience as a goal-oriented Controller, Finance and Office Manager with a demonstrated track record of leading the preparation and analysis of financial reports to summarize and forecast the company's financial position. Janice also has an extensive background in Manufacturing and Construction. Janice worked as a Controller for 12 years for Royal Group Technologies, which is a multi- million dollar leading vinyl manufacturing company with locations throughout the United States and Canada. Janice has been employed with American Medflight since June 2013. She has continued her education in  accounting and management and has earned her degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Janice is a talented leader with a highly skilled financial and administrative achievement record.















































Creighton Ring















Interim Chief Aviation Officer































































Born and raised in Minnesota, Creighton answered the call of aviation at a very young age. After completing an Undergraduate degree in Aviation at the University of North Dakota's Center for Aerospace Sciences, he went on to fly professionally across the country, landing in Reno, Nevada in 2014. In addition to holding two type ratings, he first began working as a training pilot and check-airman in 1999. Having logged nearly 10,000 hours in various aircraft, Creighton is no stranger to the challenges faced by AMF & RFS pilots. Creighton seeks to serve our customers through careful attention to detail. He oversees a rigorous training program, designed to keep our pilots at the forefront of the Air Ambulance Community.















































Bret W. Frey, MD,FACEP















Medical Director































































Dr. Frey is a longtime Nevadan with a passion for emergency medicine. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree from the University Of Nevada, Reno he embarked on a seven-year career in research at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Nevada in 2000. Board certified in emergency medicine, he returned to serve Nevadans in 2003 following his residency training at the University of Connecticut. In addition to working as an emergency department physician, Dr. Frey is the president of the Nevada Chapter of the American College















































Megan Russell-Phares















Chief Flight Nurse/Clinical Educator































 































Megan Russell is an ambitious professional. A Navy veteran, Megan attended Ohio State University’s paramedic school and earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.  She has an extensive background in emergency medicine, trauma medicine, and clinical education. Megan has practiced in both rural and urban inner cites with expertise in both intensive care and in the pre-hospital setting. Megan relocated and transitioned to a nursing management in a  large metropolitan emergency department in Las Vegas, Nevada. Megan brings years of emergency medical expertise and leadership to the American Medflight team.

















Brian McCarter















Director of Maintenance































































Mr. McCarter has over 30 years of experience working in maintenance and management. He has been involved with aviation from a young age and grew up in an aviation family. He is a certified airframe and powerplant technician with an IA (Inspection Authorization). He also has a private pilot certificate and enjoys flying. He is responsible for ensuring that company aircraft meets or exceeds FAA, Company and Industry Standards for regulatory compliance, airworthiness, safety and reliability. He manages an experienced staff of maintenance professionals, providing oversight of all inspections, repairs and modifications to deliver on safety, quality and customer service.















































Greg Friedman















Director of Business Relations































































Mr. Friedman is the Director of Business Relations for American Medflight, Inc. Greg is dedicated to providing and ensuring the highest quality of customer service. He brings a well defined and varietal background to American Medflight. As an experienced retired law enforcement officer, Greg holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science Management degree from Morrison University, Reno NV.
